Love Stones

Our love affair with stones and crystals is deep and long abiding. We lust for them, we use them daily in our lives and often turn to them for guidance.

Crystals have been used through the ages for all facets of life. In olden times, Britons wore agates to protect their skin. Frogs carved from amber were worn by the ancients for fertility. During the renaissance an amethyst was commonly engraved with a bear and worn as a protective amulet. Bloodstone was used in the distant past by Egyptians to break bonds and crumble stone walls. They used carnelian to dissipate hatred and ground malachite for eye shadow. Rubies were known as carbuncles in former times and were deemed the perfect gift for Buddha. And ground turquoise was used by the Navajo in sand paintings to attract rain. One theme mentioned over and over again in stones is love. Below is a variety of love stones and their meaning.

Rose quartz is the symbolic love stone. The Romans and Egyptians also believed rose quartz promoted beauty.

Amber. This sensual stone is said to attract a mate and increase sexual pleasure. If you are a Leo, amber is your stone. Other stones for Leos are ruby and jade. Amber is also considered a fertility stone.

Amethyst. Amethyst represents true love.

Aquamarine. The aquamarine, called a blue emerald, is empowered to bring happiness to a relationship. This stone is especially helpful to Aries and Gemini folks.

Beryl. Beryl reawakens love in married couples whose relationship has been slumbering. Pink Beryl attracts love.

Blue Lace Agate. Blue lace agate is especially helpful in removing feelings of fear and rejection.

Carnelian. Carnelian is used to increase physical energy. It also works on frigidity or impotence. Leos and Taureans are predisposed to these small translucent stones, but not necessarily for the reasons mentioned above.

Emerald. Emeralds are used to attract love. An interesting sidelight to this stone is that a change of color signifies unfaithfulness. It is also suggested that it not be worn continuously because it can generate negative emotions.

Eudialyte. Eudialyte promotes self-love and self-forgiveness.

Garnets. Garnets are worn to balance sexual appetite.

Jade. A green stone that will help your soul mate find you is jade worn in the shape of a butterfly.

Kunzite. A lovely pink crystal that offers pure love with no negativity is Kunzite.

Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is worn for fidelity.

Moonstone. Moonstones represent new beginnings.

Peridot and Olivine are also used to attract your significant other.

Pink Tourmaline. Pink tourmaline represents a mother’s love for her child.

Red and Blue Tiger’s Eyes. Red and Blue Tiger’s Eyes are used to help the sex drive.

Rhodocrosite. This stone covers love in almost all its aspects. It attracts your soul mate, brings out your erotic side and helps heal pain from abuse you may have suffered in the past.

Sardonyx. Sardonyx is a stone that blesses a marriage with stability and happiness.

Sunstone. This stone is helpful if you are in a co-dependent relationship or a relationship you are having problems getting out of. This joyful little stone aids in feelings of confidence and self-worth.

Tourmaline. Another stone that helps overcome sexual dysfunction due to emotional issues is tourmaline, in particular red, brown and yellow.

Turquoise. Turquoise promotes marital synchronization.

Yellow Zircon. Yellow zircon promotes sexual energy and attraction.
